...and took the boys out without OH tagging along this morning. He did sit and read his kindle/replace some leccy fence for me mind so he was only 2 mins away if anything happened (we can get car up on common/ into woods from my field) They were very well behaved on the whole and we were out about an hour and a half as couldn't shortcut home without OH to lead Harry over Common (not wide enough in several places for two abreast). Couple of eek moments when Murph spun because he was scared by a mountain biker reading one of the maps (doofus ) leaving us a bit tangled up and when Harry decided he might try to trot home and Murph got a bit 'uppitty' in anticipation but all in all a nice relaxed ride

Well done Am planning on leading Dylan off Boo a couple times a week as even though he's retired the walk will do him good. The last time I took him out in hand though while my cousins daughter rode Boo it ended in Dylan doing airs above my head and cousins daughter doing an unplanned dismount (though landed very well on her feet lol) Think it's a work in progress, so well done being able to go out with both yours on your own

sounds like a successful mission! I wouldn't dare ride and lead with my boys, I reckon the one being led would try and bite the other! They must get on very well together, it must be so useful to keep them both exercised.

You are inspiring me to do it too - Lad could use the exercise. Paco is used to it but Lad could be a handful ...

I actually think they do like it Brig yes. Rac i put it off for years because of Murph's unpredictableness but yesterday he was an angel and Harry was the prat! Started well but it was very blustery and it was totally my fault but as i'm a bit limited to where i can go i attempted to squeze back across common...not a good idea! I didn't turn around and go back way i came as had passed a group of young lads drinking cans...they were fine as i passed but well you never know, especially if tanked up and with two to control The wind was really getting up and i just didn't fancy all the way round Fine for first bit, bit snug but okay but then Harry shot past me and ended up facing me (so glad i opted to use an almost double length lead rope with a 'lunge style' handle. We actually sorted this and Murph was an angel but a few seconds later the little foul smelling poopy did it again. so i hopped off and led them instead but harry was quite rude and pulling inbetween trying to dive for heather or anything else he could snatch at (doesn't do this when i'm onboard or maybe it's just the narrower path). It does get wider but i stayed off as i have to go through a gate at otherside - cue Harry being a pig again. He wouldn't turn around and just stood in the gateway. I actually had to let go of Murph and man handle him all the way through and shove him till he turned Yes at this point the poor boy had been called more than a few choice words! I got back on off gate but Murph, sick of Harry arsing about i think, tried to kick him whilst i was doing so (Harry was fidgeting a LOT) cue the second tome i was glad my lead was long with a handle. Harry ended up on my left so i thought well we'll try this way as it's only down the lane and home. We did about 2 strides away from gate and Harry curled around under Murph's next and arranged himself back on my right. Murph had been rolling his eyes when he was on the left too, isn't it funny how quickly they become use to/comfortable with an arrangement and don't like it changing! Anyhow we got home all in one piece and it's given me further confidence in that i can cope alone if minor hiccups occur. I'm still only going out if i know my OH is at home mind just incase i need back up. Sorry for the essay btw. Those who read it may help themselves ;D
