Wrap him in cotton wool and bubble wrap?? I would look for any nicks or knocks that he might have around that area, it might just be that in the excitement of being out he has twisted his knee beggaring about or been knocked by someone else who was. If it carries on I would get the vet.

That's pants Sol. No help but I like BD's idea of cotton wool and bubble wrap

Brave had something similar last year he had a swelling on the side of his knee, no heat or lameness it was just puffy. Advice was to keep riding him as normal and see what happened about 3 weeks later it disappeared.

Do you have an attractive vet? We have come to the conclusion that my friend's mare fancies the vet so keeps doing things so she gets to see him!
On a serious note, hope the swelling has gone down

No Becca, vet is female and grumpy! She said just watch and see. Hosing helps and he was a git yesterday, so not in pain.

Yep, still has a fat knee, very happy and comfortable moving on it though. Trying not to panic. His knees are at the height of their water trough which is an old iron bath. My money is on him knocking it on that.

Any injury above it and the swelling has moved down and settled? Just tsake it steady!
