I am only allowed to walk Pete for 30 mins does that mean six days a week is better than four? Will he be ready to go up to forty minutes after two weeks, then fifty after four weeks then an hour at six weekks? Need to keep a diary I think.

Sol, I know its difficult but try to be patient and allow him rest as well. Thats the whole point of fittening, to work the soft structures and then let them repair, so that they become stronger. You dont need any undue strain on him as it may mean him compensating elsewhere and then you may end up with another injury. Slowly slowly catch the monkey!

Four days a week is probably sufficient enough to start with. As Brig says, too much too soon could either aggrevate the existing injury or create problems elsewhere. Your vet is probably the best person to advise on his regime as it is recouperative as well as building fitness so will probably vary slightly than that of a horse that is just being 'gotten fit' (if that makes sense!)
