Boy they keep you on your toes, these horses! Took P to the club yesterday for an individual dressage lesson (which the sneery boy champion then joined ) and P was a sh!t to load both there and back. That's the downs. The up was that he worked really well during the lesson. He was a bit too speedy and I have to work harder at braking with my thighs apparently. He struck off correctly on left lead canter every time which is a huge step forward but I need to be stronger with my left leg to stop him falling in, which I do struggle with. But he did some really nice shoulder-in circles and bum in circles (I never know what you call these in English) and the trainer even said, only half joking: ooooh, he's turning into a dressage horse! It was a bit mean for poor P to be in the same class as the boy wonder on his lovely dressage horse who makes it look so easy but I was proud of my lad. He tried very hard and I think he's looking rather lovely at the moment, all white and flowing mane and tail.

Well done Eric! He is a great little horse. Shame about the loading. So frustrating. Is there anyone else around when you load him? I only ask 'cos at our old yard, I had the job of leading YM's horse onto the horsebox whenever she competed. The mare would go up lovely with me, always! Was very unpredictable with her owner!
