Yep its that same old questions... rugs?
I'm struggling to know what rug to turn the horses out in at the moment as first thing it is cold enough for there to be a frost then it warms up to about 7 degrees mid morning but after lunch its 10-15 degrees.... I don't have time to go out and change rugs mid day unless I am riding, but that is only 2 days during the working week and weekends.
so what they go it in the morning they stay in... I've compromised and have decided to turn out in rain sheets, that way they have something on to keep a little bit warm in the morning but has they have no fill they wont get too hot in the afternoon.
Both Brave and Dexter are clipped and summer coat not come in yet so cant go out naked, expect for a couple of hours in the afternoon if I've ridden.
Decisions Decisions!

Same problem here I have both mine out 24/7 now and its in the minus at night but 12+ in the afternoon. I still have mine in Medium weight and if at home during the day, I take them off but unfortunately as I work about an hour away this isn't always possible. I'm sure they must be pounded!!

Mine have also been naked for last couple of weeks, this milder than usual weather has been fab! As they are both a bit porky i've not been bothering to rug at night although it can still get chilly...you never know they might shiver a few pounds off (i wish!)
The downside is the rain like last sun when Harry resembled a swamp thing next morning

Boo and Dylan have been naked for a couple weeks now. It's still frosty most nights here, but they are both fine and the last time I went to put Dylans lightweight on cos I thought it was chilling down he said no thanks and wandered off lol. Neither are clipped though and both on the well rounded side, so doing them no harm hehe.

Ours have been naked this week. They're still in overnight - out this weekend yay. It is chilly when they first go out but they all seem fine. Ed has a chaser style clip but only half neck off. She's been getting very itchy with her coat coming out and seems to be really enjoying having a naked scratch. They'll probably have their no fills on overnight for the first few nights. Oooh no more mucking out after tomorrow. Bliss.

We turned out fully last sat! Rosie however wasnt too impressed with the idea and refused to go out so had to drag her. Shes funny though as I have to drag her out of the field for her tea and then drag her back to the field after being on the yard! She has some hay over night and apart from last night is in her fly rug and a no fill light weight over night. She has a blanket clip and some winter coat still on the unclipped bits.
Its staying really foggy and misty in the mornings and picking up in the afternoon. So just been leaving her naked with a fly rug in the day.
