My hunting dog needs a shave and at 40€ a pop I think it's cheaper to buy some horse clippers and do it myself. Any recommendations?

I love my lister neon ones which are relatively lightweight, but strong enough to do a full horse clip

I bought some Huntmaster clippers on ebay and they are fab and not hideously expensive. Masterclip (also on ebay) are cheap and again have very good rep.

Again I just bought a set on ebay- didnt even recognise the name as they came from China but they have been excellent with two sets of blades and full maintenance kit, was about four years ago and still going strong. Use them on my terrier and they cut close but ok.

Went down your route Brig and the Chinese ones work very well. However, the teenager got a bit carried away and shaved of ALL of poor's R's mane and now he looks like a rat. Then she got home and shaved the poor dog who, instead of having a nice short coat like from the parlour, is now totally naked and shivering. I've had to give her an old jumper to wear. Honestly, teenagers!
