Just finishing the series to date from George RR Martin, Game of Thrones. Its superb, very entertaining but a bit gory at times and sometimes a bit rude in an earthy way but what a brilliant tale. Well recommended and takes ages to read. Im a bit sad as the most recent installment isnt available until 12th March

Brig - I am halfway through book 3 and loving it, hopefully by the time I read the next two books the 6th one will be out.
Series 2 (i.e. book 2) of the Game of Thrones should be coming to Sky Atlantic in April. I loved the 1st series which is what prompted me to start reading the books...
My favourite character has to be Ayra followed by Tyrion!

Tyrion is a hoot! It gets better as it goes on. Arya gets even more interesting! I like Jon. I loved Eddard Stark but was destroyed when he departed. Danaerys is fascinating too! In fact even the baddies are terribly fascinating so its an all round winner! I loved the first series and cant wait for the second as most of the first was true to the book so hoping the second doesnt stray too far though how they will do some of the scenes!!! Without giving anything away are you as far as the Red Wedding?

There's some brilliant characters, I think having watched the series helps make some of the characters easier to understand and believe, whoever did the series casting should have won an award. (or did they?) Im limiting myself to half hour reads to make my last few pages last longer! How sad is that?
It doesnt get any less fascinating the further you get into the books either, Im still on a knife edge with some of the story lines.......

Bloomin 'Eck Brig - I wasn't expecting that!
Got to the red wedding and whilst I was expecting something it certainly wasn't that I get the feeling the story now goes of in a completely different direction
At the moment there are so many cliffhangers with so many of the characters I don't know if 3 of them are alive or dead - some of the baddies are becoming goodies and other baddies are just getting worse.... its almost impossible to put down

The Red Wedding left me breathless! I was so shocked so I had to read it again just in case Id missed something crucial, to say I was gutted is an understatement! I suppose that's the thing when you read such a novel, you try and second guess the author as to who the main characters are so you have your heroes and villains, but this author seems to have no allegiance- he creates fantastic characters and then whoosh- they are gone! Im bereft at the moment, the new book doesnt become available for another two weeks. I think Ive had withdrawal symptoms, as Ive been really grumpy!
