Can anyone please give me an idea of how Shires rugs compare with Weatherbeeter in terms of fit; which is more generous or are they similar? Thanks guys

It really depends what type of horse you have, weatherbeetas fit my chunky connie mare perfectly, the necks are well shaped and they are deep enough to keep her tummy and the top of her legs warm without getting in the way wheras the shires ones are simply not deep enough and the neck shape doesn't fit her well but they do fit my mothers thoroughbred well. If you ask in any shop they will tell you which horse they will fit better as not all rugs are designed the same, some will fit some shapes better than others much like human clothes, or you could look at the pictures on something such as the rideaway website and see what kind of horse they use in their advertising as they will show the rugs on the horse that fit together best . Hope that helops

I tried a shires one on Brave and it wasn't deep enough however he does have a weatherbeeta one and its good on him, as he is another welshie I would say W/B would be better for you.

Thanks, but what I really want to know is if someone has both w/b and shires and how they compare for size, is a 6' w/b a smaller or larger fit than the shires.
I have all w/b rugs for debs and they fit her fine but I am getting a shires and wondered how the fit compares - have ordered the shires a size bigger, partly because I think she could possibly have a size bigger in the w/b. When I buy a new w/b this year wondering how the slightly bigger size will fit.
