Particularly the more traditional chunky type - what type of saddle do you use? I know it's not a case of one will fit all but I am struggling to find something that is wide enough at the shoulder that also fits her non existant withers. She measure wide on the gullet. Currently she has a Thorowgood Maxam which suits well but is now too wide after the weight she lost since I got her. Had a saddler out who recommended the Thorowgood T4 Cob but I really want to go leather I've decided. And the only thing she had suitable was a pessoa adjustable with a price tag more expensive than the horse!!!

Brave is a chunky boy and for both him and Chompy I use a Stirlingshire Saddlery GP (made by ideal but 1/2 the price) very comfy and robust they are too.
mine are both in medium fit

i used a wintec on harry (he was wide) but did find it bit low at the withers - i found him best in the dressage version actually as it was higher at the withers and gave him shoulder space...

Hazels in a Thorowgood Gill Thomas Endurance Ive had it about 7 years. Not sure what the new model equivalent is. I bought it as it was advertised as suitable for adult riders on shorter backed horses. Its had a couple of adjustments and still fits well. I have looked at some leather ones as well but worried in case they wont be as comfy. Would be interested to know if you do find something suitable.

I use an Albion, their gp's aren't too forward cut and the working hunters are straighter again, they fit the shoulders really well. You can look out for second hand ones as new they are a bit pricey. Aside from fitting Debbie really well they are very comfy to ride in.
