Pete has had two over-reaches in the last month wonder if I should turn him out in over-reach boots. Does anyone else do this? Pros and Cons?

I have done this as Noble is prone to pulling shoes, be very carefull of rubbing (a bit of vasilene can help) and the soft neoprene type over reach boots are a bit more expensive but more breathable and caused less rubbing. Xx

I have known horses in the past that wore the old fashioned now pull on rubber over reach boots most of the time with no problems at all. One horses were only ever replaced when he pulled chunks out of them, they never seemed to rub/bother him a bit.
Most of the others were because the owners were too lazy to keep putting on/off as they were a right pain to get on/off back then (I have done that myself a few times i'll admit) usually involving two people and baler band to pull them wide enough...who remembers this before velcro fastening ones!
...Oh and clacky westrops too with the petals you threaded on....can't believe they were once the height of equine boot cool!

Sancy used to have them on all the time when she was shod and never had a problem. Goodness Westropp clacky clacky boots - I'm ashamed to say that yes I had a pair and used to think it sounded sooo cool, especially when jumping!
