As some of you may know, Fire hates pigs with a passion! Anyways its something we've been working on for about a year now getting him closer and closer each time. This weekend he was fantastic. Y.day we walked up and had a look at the north pigs, were still a lil way away from them but we can see them from where we are. He didn't care one little bit, just wanted to eat grass. He would have kept on goin too but i didn't wanna push my luck. Today we went up near the south pigs were plannin to turn the corner and ride away from them which we did, I couldn't get back across to the other path due to the undergrowth and then i spotted a gas gun. so i either had to put myself between the main road and gas gun or turn around and ride back towards the pigs and the way we came. N I certainly wasn't gonna get too near the road or gas gun! He was pretty unsure about going back towards them as we've only ever ridden away from them. But i asked in a relaxed mannor and he did it, foot perfect! he walked home faster then usual but oh well. The key to him is to give him a really long rein, minute i shorten them is the minute we've had it. I am so pleased, we really couldn't get anywhere at all near them not so long ago. I can now see a small light at the end of the tunnel.

This is my map of porky progress. The white line is the first time he saw them at the white cross. I could feel his heart beatin whilst sat on him. Got off and led him and he dragged through the wood/fields to get home. today the red line was where he went no probs!

Well done both of you. Have a karma for all your hard work. Looks like it's paying off.

That's brilliant news! I know exactly what you are going through as my horse is petrified of pigs aswell, but slowly we are getting there! For a start he would just stop and refuse to move then would spin round and try to head home! Last time I managed to get past without having someone leading him, which is a big step for him (ok so he trotted in a rather odd fashion snorting at them the whole time) but he went past so that's the main thing!

Love your map ;DLittle pig is soo cute ;D Well done on your progress. Never met any pigs on my travels (perhaps just as well) but the horses are well used to goats and peathingys and dogs and donkeys

that's brill, well done. Pigs moved in right next door to the arena I use in the Spring. They could put their snouts through the arena fence to say hello. We had a few scary moments, but before they went off to the place they never came back from raymond thought they were his little friends. You've made great progress if you couldnt get anywhere near them before
