Most of my books just talk about using the body brush along with the metal curry comb - short strokes etc. but one mentioned using the rubber curry comb to 'lift the grease' from the coat and then the body brush to clean it from the hairs. Which way does everyone use out of curiosity? I remember using both methods on my own ponies but never saw much difference with the rubber curry/body brush method - thought it was a waste of time lol Is one of these the 'correct' method or are they both correct? Thanks

I haven't a clue to be honest! I tend to use a rubber curry comb or a deep rubber curry comb if Faith is hairy or muddy and then follow that by a dandy brush (or a body brush if I'm in the mood to get her really clean ). Quite often though she just gets a quick flick over with a dandy brush to get the dust off her. Obviously if we're riding I take extra care to make sure she's clean and comfortable, but when we're not... .

Same as Spotti. I only use the rubber one in winter, mainly when shes moulting as we're on sandy soil so she rarely gets muddy. In summer she gets a quick flick over with a dandy brush or flick brush (whichevers closest to hand) and a body brush if I'm spending longer to get her sparkling.
