Am I right in thinking you can't wear a certain type of hat when doing dressage? I have a champion air vented thing and I'm assuming I'll need to get a new one if I was to do dressage? Or does it not matter so much lower down the levels?

I don't think it matters too much as long as it is of the correct standard certainly at unaffiliated competitions I wear my Harry hall legend at comps cos my show hat is uncomfortable x

I think it depends - i think pony club dont allow you to wear ones with silver stripes etc. but if its unaffiliated (i.e. just run at a random riding centre sort of thing) it should be ok. Check the rules for each event - some unaff events are run under PC or RC rules for example.
