Since Faith was outside already (slept outside) and the fact that she's got the farrier later, I thought it might be nice to leave her out and only bring her in just before the farrier (instead of bring her in for breakfast, turn her out, bring her in for farrier, turn her out, bring her in for tea, possibly turn her out again), which would mean that I could have a well-deserved lie-in...the first in a very long time...but it was an EPIC FAIL!!! I woke up at my 5.35am alarm, turned it off, went back to sleep, woke up at 5.45am, then ~6am...then approximately every 10 minutes until I finally gave up and got out of bed at around 7.30am! SO MUCH FOR A LIE-IN! I'm now sat around waiting for it to be time to go to the yard to fetch Faith in for the farrier. I should have just got up as normal and brought her in 3 times in the same day Anyway, my question is - when was the last time you had a lie-in?

I managed to stay in bed last Friday until 8.50 too! - that is a good lie in for me. I know that old feeling at the weekend. Even though I don't have to get up for anything I'm still awake at 5.45 as usual. I try and fight it but generally give in by 7 and get up and go and do something. OH has no problems sleeping since he joined the police and on his days off can easily lie in until 10!! But he does work horrid shifts which disrupt his sleep patterns so he grabs it while he can.

I have one every now and again, especially when the horses are out overnight or 24/7.

Oh dear, I got very drunk last Saturday night and apart from having to feed the cats at 6.30am I slept til 11. I haven't done that since I was a student.

Back in the old days, like 38 years ago, when you had a baby you got to stay in the hospital for a week. Other then the nurse bringing you your baby every 4 hours you got to lay in for all the rest of the time.
