There is serious talk at the moment about worms becoming immune to all the chemicals we have traditionally administrated to our horses every few months.
I have never really understood worming programs (shameless I know) and Sprite has usually been just put on the program of the yard that he is at. He has had a worm count done and was wormed accordingly which I would much prefer so that I don't worm him unnecessarily .
However, I have a slight problem in that the yard where Sprite will be moving to has a strict 3 month program which all must do. Do you think I should really push to do things my own way or do you think just going with their program will be ok? It also confused me that they are so strict as most horses are turned out individually, in which case individual worming programs surely wouldn't be a problem?

Maybe seeing as they are on individual turnout, you could discuss this with the yard manager/owner - as long as they know that you are going to be worming him accordingly i dont see how they could have a problem with it. You could even show them the results of the worm counts etc. And i would assume you have to poo pick on individual turnout so i cant see how this would affect their grazing in any way - poo picking is what you are supposed to do after all.
