Ok, so what are the main differences between classical and modern dressage and what are the advantages and disadvantages of each? I get the impression that classical dressage is much more about training the horse to use his body in a way which is beneficial but that modern dressage can have much more of a focus on head position. Why are all dressage competitions modern and what can you do if you want to train classically but want to compete? Please correct me on anything I have got wrong, I find the whole thing very interesting so give me information pleases

I don't know much about dressage so I couldn't really give you an answer, however, I get the same impression you do (i.e. classical = more about the training and subtle cues, modern = more about the head position, gadgets and from what I've seen NOT GOOD RIDING!).
I'm as interested as you to find out what the real differences are.
