I know this is a little unseasonal but it's amazing to me how certain makes fit certain horses. I love my horsewear Ireland Amigo ruds for Pete also Weatherbeetas fit him quite well. His 'bargain' Derby house rug however is a disaster! Barney suits Mark Todd rugs best, but has to go up a whole size. I am in the market for a replacement medium weight 6' rug, suggestions please? Would love a Rambo Wug but they are so dear!

yeah i have issues with rose, as she has quite wide shoulders and big chest. Masta rugs dont fit at all and personally dont like them as seem to fall apart! Thinking of trying eiher weatherbeeta or the amigo's as they seem to fit quite well. Also have to go up a size to have plently of room round the shoulders.

Most of my rugs are Horseware rugs - x2 Rambo Duo's, Wug and several Amigo's. I also have an excellent Weatherbeeta which fits both my boys very well. I have recently acquired a Derby House rug wich i have to say is a bit pants! I won't have Masta rugs as the only one I ever had fell to bits very quickly, leaked and didn't fuit particularly well . I'm very lucky that my boys are both the same size and I can therefore swap and change rugs if there are any problems Zx

Mum uses Masta rugs but we do reproof them before they even get on a horses back and then every year after that because they can be unreliable, the ones we have we have had for over six years and are still good. Savvy has weatherbeeta rugs purely because they fit her better than the Masta ones. Not a fan of the Amigo one, my mum worked for a lady who used them and they seemed quite cheap and not very hardwearing. Like most things some rugs will fit some horses better than others so I would see if you can borrow some from friends just to see the fit.

It's funny that you've all said Derby House rugs are pants...that's pretty much all Faith wears! They fit her like a glove, don't leak, and because they're not stupidly expensive (actually I only ever really buy rugs in a sale lol) I don't mind replacing them if they get damaged. We've tried weatherbeeta's - too tight, amingo - tight and leaked, masta - *blows a raspberry*...only the cheapy ones fit my odd-shaped pony

Have used weatherbeetas for years and love them. Fit anything and never rub/slip. I am also a big premier equine fan these days too. Again fit both of my different shaped boys very well and no probs rubbing etc.
Mastas are my personal nemesis - Like rachel the ones I've had have leaked and fell apart (and don't fit well to boot). very shoddy in my opinion.
I'm not a horsewear fan either mainly because they don't fit chunky types as too tight around the neck plus of course they are not adjustable which doesn't help (or the ones I've had aren't)

Ooh, premier equine - I bought one of their rugs a few years back in the sale. Gorgeous rug - looked so snuggly! I was gutted that the only size they had available was 6'3 and it drowned my little pony . Shame I sent it back (intending on buying another but never got round to it) as I would have used it as a sleeping bag for me when it's cold!!! Couldn't really comment on the fit as Faith only tried it on but the quality was oh-so-snuggly

Weatherbeetas, Horseware and Premier Equine get my vote. Eddie came with 2 Mastas which I find fit OK but leak around the shoulders.
