Is anyone else having a problem with Fleas this year (on cats and dogs that is lol!) One of my cats seems to be constantly getting them. I'm having to Frontline him every 3 weeks and hoover daily and keep spraying the house. Never had it so bad. He does go out lots in the long grass. It's driving me mad....and making me feel very itchy just talking about it

Hi Scatty mare keep the emphasis in doing the house, the reason why the fleas are so bad is 'cos the cat is not in the house to feed them! Long grass thing thought to be a myth. The problem is the best conditions to breed fleas is warm moist air. What is our weather like at the moment? I work at a vet clinic and this is wht the vets' all say anyway.

Try brewer's yeast for your cat. The last time I had an outbreak I bought 3 cans of Raid, (household bug killer) closed all the windows and sprayed liberally. Then the dogs and I went out for an all day picnic.
Came home and opened all the windows. That was maybe 6 or 7 years ago and the brewers yeast really works well.

My 3 dogs all wear flea collars, have never had a flea problem (touch wood), these also stop them getting ticks, which can be a bug bear with horsie doggies

We've never had this problem before. I think I need to take out shares in Bob Martin & Frontline the amount of stuff I've bought. Seems to be getting a bit better now. I just keep hoovering and spraying, hoovering and spraying......
