Erm...if it had bashed itself? Or maybe if they had an infection or something???
Never known a horse have a nosebleed before but that doesn't mean that they can't/don't!

Many reasons - a knock to the head, burst blood vessels caused by heavy exersion, very common in race horses. Sometimes bleeding from the lungs which comes out the nose, again usually due to a breathing disorder when exercised.
