I have come to concusion that piggies are very sadistic. Fire has been "pig training" now for about 8months now, since Trav has been here hes been a more brave pony and a lot better behaved.
Once upon a time you couldn't get him within a 100m radius of pigs without him going spare, his eyes would be out on stalks, he'd jog and bounce all the way home and be dripped in sweat. But we'd have been practising getting closer and bar two bad sessions, where he was chased by two dogs and one time oh came with and all the pigs came galloping over too see him things have been going really well
Its really funny cos if you round the corner quietly and sneak up behind them they'd all squeal and run away Fire thought this was brill and just wanted to go closer then. And I'd been able to ride him half way along beside the pigs then turn around and come back. Anyway yesterday thought that this was the day to go all the way...so rounded the corner as usual pigs turned round and ran away...Then one stopped (curious Georgina) put her head up and came striding over towards us followed by her cronnies. Poor Fire he just spun round on the spot and bouncied all the way back to a point about 15m beyond the pen where he felt safe. Then turned and watched them.
They all mosied over to the side where we were, and looked at us so I thought fine I'll just get him used to being nearer them. So got him to move closer to them and the devils turned round and scarpered again! so on we continued...and they all turned round and started coming back again! Following curious Georgina. So I thought I'll make some scary noised so did my best dog impressions and that only made them trot!
So back we went and I managed to convince him to get a bit closer before we went home. Blemmin things they were really messing with his head! So try again this weekend. On the plus side though he wasn't sweaty and he happily walked away from them.
Sausage rolls for all who made it this far!
