Murph's b'day today and I think it was a case of it's my party and I'll tantrum if i want to
started out just fine...both of them if anything being a tadge lazy...just doing enough to get away with it.
Got literally half way round and about to turn towards home when a landrover pulling a flat bed trailer came towards us...been doing tree/fencing work i guess but trailer was empty...so yes you got it - it was bouncing around on the path like anything.
Decided we would stay put and let them see it as tyrning towards home would have it rattling behind us whilst passing - okay not too bothered just a little jump when it first came near us although when we did turn for home Harry got a bit jumpy/silly as it was still rattling along and could be heard despite being well past us in a different direction by now.
He just didn't really settle after that and even threw in a little buck, which is really out of character. At the top we had to get off as our short cut onto common/home was a storm victim and the branch is still blocking it but murph can just get under dismounted, Harry was still edgy whilst being led and Murph 'caught' it too so we were rarther towed along as typically the nags hogged the best ground and left us stumbling in the roots etc (it's a rough self made path left from the logging so very bumpy with big tyre tracks too).
Got back on off common gate to find two silly woman following us with pooches (sorry not their fault really but never mind)...by this point Harry was convinced they were after him and getting a bit silly (again fairly out of character), murph was not too bad again once I got on or so i thought.... out of seemingly nowhere he suddenly threw in a huge buck and carted me off...me having washing lines , after regaining my seat as nearly hit the deck, took rather a while to stop as ground is rough/uneven so didn't dare try anything more than telling him to look where he was putting his feet and gradually stop him in in fear of bringing the clumsy git down 'fighting him' as surefooted he aint.
Did stop eventually and looked around very relived to see j had somehow got off and was leading a prancing Harry along....she said as soon as I didn't stop after a couple of strides, she figured she couldn't hold Harry much longer and if he came after me I'd clearly never stop! so thanks to her quick thinking/action (as I'm sure getting off, staying upright and holding him was no mean task) I got off safely, let the silly woman past us (they flippin dithered forever too ) then we remounted and made our way home as if it had never happened.
silly creatures they are sometimes.
Got my revenge anyhows....Murph's b'day treat was a wormer didn't even put up a fight as went for the surprise attack and stuck it in his mouth before untacking when he wasn't expecting it as can't get near him if he see's the syringe .
