;D Well have had the most lovely day today. It is like summer here.
Debs and I set off at about midday and headed off into the hills. It was beautiful, you could see for miles on the tops and there was a lovely warm breeze up there.
I spotted four horses from a local trekking centre in the distance and met one other person riding. Apart from 3 motorbikes I saw no one else the whole time I was up there. Had some lovely gallops across the moors and I have to say that Debs is the most fabulous gate horse, there are hardly any that I have to dismount at, she stands while you open them, will push them open and then push them closed again.
At about 3.45 stopped at a friends for a cup of tea and then got home about 4.30 to 5ish.
Hope everyone else has had a oood day too. xx

Sounds great Jane.
We had a nice hack this morning but only short one as I wasn't feeling too clever. It's nice when they are helpful with gates, Murph will open and close them too once the latch is done but Harry is not very obliging about them unfortunately.

Gorgeous. Debs is like Barney he pushes the gates with his nose! We too enjoyed the sunshine today. Not for five hours though! Now that's what I call a hack. Epic.

I love those hacks you just go out for a ride and its just you and the horse and you maybe stop to talk to someone or pop in for a cup of tea here and there. Specially on a lovely sunny day.

Sounds like heaven. And Debs is obviously one really good horse. I do envy people with lovely hacking (and with well behaved horses!).

Sounds lovely. Debs does sound a superstar and the two of you sound like you have an amazing relationship.

Sounds a perfect sort of day really, you, your horse and the sunshine and hills. Simply marvellous!
One of my happiest memories of Brigadier was a day I rode him onto the Otley Chevin, a famous group of hills to the North of Leeds. We cantered for miles on the forestry tracks (he loved forest riding) then on the edge of a cliff we stopped to watch the world go by in the valley far below. It was the most tranquil but somehow exhilerating time I ever had with that horse. Thanks Jane- your ride has triggered that memory!
