Mine have just died . Soles cracked and let in water so I kept getting soggy feet!
Initially I hated them as they wouldn't bend and I could never get them off, but as I've been wearing them more over the past year or so I've grown rather fond of them (particularly when filling hay nets or trudging through sticky muddy fields as nothing gets in them and they don't get pulled off) so I'm rather sad now that they have gone to bootsie heaven, hence I'm wanting a replacement pair.
I think they were cheapy Decathlon rubber boots that they sold a few years ago, which do appear to still be in storel, however they've re-shaped the boot to be a bit wider at the top to make putting on/taking off easier, but for me that defeats the reason why I like these boots...they are meant to be impossible to pull off!!! If they're too wide and loose I might as well just wear my wellies .
Anyway, long story short: My boots died, I tried riding in wellies (I have cage stirrups so it's ok ) and failed quite miserably, now I want a replacement. Any recommendations?
I'd rather not have leather as I'm not very dilligent at cleaning my tack, let alone my boots . I have sort of chunky-ish calves and little legs so anything that comes up quite short should fit. Also I hate jodhpur boots with a passion - I've never managed to do anything in a pair because as soon as I try them on they give me blisters! I used to have mucker boots and half chaps which I loved on the yard but as they never seemed to fasten all the way down and felt really rather bulky they were hard to ride in and also would let mud/water in around my ankles when I went down the field in them. My muckers died just before christmas and I replaced them like for like, but the new ones just aren't the same...heels collapsed after about a week so now they're out of work too .
Oh and I'm on a budget - preferably want to spend no more than about £30. (I think I like the looks of MuckBoots, the long ones, but don't think my pennies will stretch to nearly £80 ).
So yeah, nothing like a very specific shopping list!!! If anyone fancies having a nosey on the internet for something that fits the bill (in size 6) then feel free, and if you find anything, let me know please
