H is taking Brave round his 1st 'proper' hunter trials on the 17th April... i.e. in 4 weeks time... hence my naughty ebay purchase as we wont be getting him out to do any XC schooling beforehand.
It is a 75cm schooling class she is doing so even if you stop or come off they let you finish.
He last went XC training in June last year, but did really well and loves it, just worried about a brush fence I know they have and the last time he saw on he went from canter to reverse in 1 stride!!!
Slightly worried about the water jump/splash through , the biggest problem there wont be going in it will be getting him out! he loves water and the bigger the splash he can make the better
But this sproglet better put in its appearance sooner rather than later, otherwise... well I'll just have to get someone else to drive!

You will be pleased to hear that the OH has volunteered to drive next weekend so we are still taking Brave to the HT/ H and L will sort him out - OH will deal with the dogs and I'll see to Abi fingers crossed the weather stays as nice as this.

Well H got him around - just as well it was a schooling class as she had 3 refusals at each of the 1st 3 fences and if a proper class would have been eliminated before they got going, but is usual Brave fashion he jumped the scary fences including the water jump with little or no hesitation but a simple straight forward fence had tigers hiding behind it!!!
neverless it was a beautiful sun- shiney day and a great day out for everyone... a few people commented about Abi attending her 1st event at 15 days old, but loved the fact that we are starting early!

Sounds like he had a good introduction with his test pilot and will be raring to go with you in the autumn. Abi will be ready for the pairs almost by then too i'll bet!

have a bit of very wobbly video footage of the 1st three jumps... then bumped into some friends as I was walking to the water jump so managed to miss the rest of his round as I was simply in the wrong place, saw the last three fences but didn't get any footage.
