continuing from Maxi's thread about RIDs doing dressage, Chompy was feeling full of himself yesterday and decided to strut his stuff for the camera!

He looks brilliant. Despite the snow and everything, you have those 2 horses looking fit and trim and going very well. Very neat clip too.

He is the most frustrating horse, because whilst he can do this and do it beautifully, he only ever gives it on his terms at home or hunting when he is feeling full of himself - take him to a competition environment and he goes into riding school plod mode and it is an uphill battle all the way.
I have come to the conclusion that he tunes out when in a competition atmosphere... simply doesn't like it!

He looks really good here, like Maxi says, he is really up through the forehand and using his hind end well. Your jockey looks to be loving the feeling he is giving her. Ive known a couple of horses that are ploddy at competitions. I used to think they went into 'protection mode' as they were used by the inexperienced riders for tests. I simply think they didnt enjoy the nerves and the stress of the rider, so instead of playing up which a less genuine horse would do, they went into 'careful, I derent do anything wrong'. Lovely pic Fi.
