Just before I order one, are there any makes I should steer clear of/rush to buy? Anything I should know about the fitting?

Greenguards have good reviews (but of course are hideously expensive!

I've just posted a link for Best Friend muzzles on your other thread. Make sure you measure them correctly (instructions on the site) - if the "deluxe" one (halter included) doesn't seem like it will fit properly then the "standard" one (muzzle bit only - need a fieldsafe halter) is a bit less deep and suits horses with small muzzles and large heads - like Faith. Faith used to hate her Shires one as it used to rub or almost fall off the end of her nose, but this Best Friend one is roomy enough not to rub but fitted enough to sit where it should do. As of yet she's not been turned out in it but she's been accustomed to wearing it and we're slowly teaching her how to eat with it on. Up until now she's shown no avoidance behaviour or any particular dislike to wearing it - and to me that is worth it's price many times over

Rac I bought Greenguards for my boys and they could get their noses out the sides however it was adjusted....including after I bought the greenguard headcollors which I was told was why it happened in first place.....but when I took these back I was then told lots of people had same problem!
