I bought some calm and condition for Pete didn't do my research now realise its recomended that it is mixed with a bit of chaff. That was fine 'cos H and I usually buy a bag and split it between us. Problem is Pete needs to stay on small feed for his supplements and Barney not going to be fed. I wish you could buy small bags of chaff. I read on HHO that you can make your own chaff by putting hay through a garden shredder what do you think?

Not quite chaff but friendship estates (who are the real people behind what was marketed as spillers readigrass) do small bales/sacks of readi grass for small furry critters...is it Guinea pigs who eat it?

Can't see why chopping your hay up would hurt. Though my friend used to use Fast Fibre which is the same type of pellets that you soak and never mixed chaff in. M never had a problem eating it at all.
