I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today. Because of the snow I'm now stuck at uni. I have no way of getting out of the campus into town, and no way of getting from town to home as all the buses and trains are not running properly That's not too bad you might think...well, it wouldn't be if: - a) I had food and more water in my room b) the kitchen had food c) there was some way of bringing more food!!! The kitchen staff went home yesterday about 12pm and left us with only sandwiches and sausage rolls for tea...absolutely great if you're gluten-intolerant and can't touch the stuff without feeling ill or at the very least getting a rash from touching the food This morning only the main guy was there and he looked like he'd slept over and was trying to serve us in his PJ's! Still no 'safe' food for me so I'm living off 2 apples and 3 bananas that we managed to scrounge from the back of the kitchen. Yummy . Please go away snow so I can get home to somewhere with food I can eat!!! Argh. I hate that horrible fluffy cold white stuff

I'll second hating the fluffy white stuff we have so much now it's unbelieveable and we still keep getting more!
Hope you manage to find some food soon, can't see you getting home anytime soon unfortunalty as you've got to pass by us to get there and apparantly, although yesterday/Monday they didn't have much, the white stuff has now seriously hit Sheffield.
They were towing the artics collecting the carrots up off the main drag to the farm and back again this morning when went to boys...we had to have a helping hand back onto main drag too after getting it stuck on lane (which the tractors had already tried to snowplough for the lorries/general access). One has to have serious respect for whoever invented tractors when they can pull a fully loaded artic through about 3 foot of snow (and over the verge as we blocking the road at one point) and make it look as if they were hardly trying!

Good old tractors!
And yep. snow has well and truely hit sheffield...not quite as bad as Fi in bonnie scotland but its enough to grind the city ot halt (and get all of our neighbours out of the house to help my dad shift 18" deep snow out of the way so that we can stand a chance of getting somewhere!)
