My first working hunter comp was tonight. I had a really fun night. Decided to start with the 45cm for a warm up and i did the 65cm afterwards. We had to plait and wear jackets and all - i do love a chance to dress up ;D
The 45cm went well although the jumps were pathetically tiny lol! It went really smooth and it was a good pace so was really pleased. I came first in the horse section! I got a nice rosette and trophy and all ;D Only comment on mark sheet was about canter leads when jumping.
Did the 65cm then - we were standing waiting for ages which i will have to remember not to do cos he just falls asleep lol! It went a bit disappointing really - he scrambled over a lot of the jumps and he lacked impulsion and just was a bit dozy going round so didnt get very good jumps over the course. Plus i was getting more nervous the longer we stood so perhaps i wasnt kicking on as much beause of that. Comments were just about the lack of impulsion but judges said the showpiece was nice so that was good ;D didnt get anything for that class.
Still, i had a really good night and it was good fun ;D
