Not really wanting to get involved in this, but I thought the whole point of getting a horse to sit on his hocks was to have him using his back end properly to power forwards - surely the 'sitting' aspect is just the result of the horse using himself correctly? Now correct me if I'm wrong (as I often can be), but strapping a horses head down and pulling him back with a strong bit who's pressure he cannot escape doesn't sound like the best way of helping him propel forwards Could you, to best of your ability, jump a massive puissance wall with your chin pulled into your chest and a your mouth strapped shut? I don't think it would work. Ok so maybe you get over it, but is that really the best you can do?

having a pelham doesnt pull your horses head in and doesnt make his head tucked in to his chin :S it gives me more so when i half halt my horse will shorten her stride and therfore, sit back and wait quietly rather then letting her run to a fence what do u mean is that really the best i can do?

Sorry I have work to do. But I have just replied to your PM as requested. You're right I don't showjump to a high level (at all in fact, I keep four feet on the ground). Does that make me a lesser person that you? Or less knowledgeable? Clearly not from what you've been dishing out. Back to your bridge.

they have a grackle and a rubber pelim where is there 2 nosebands and no there isnt a problem, but when you need to get your horse sitting on the hocks mainly for puissance i need a stronger bit what does that mean every horse that isnt in snaffle has a problem? sorry just dont understand what you mean? you could perhaps try and teach your horse collection! now there is a thought! The two nosebands came from your post " a breastplate a rubber pelim(pelham) a grackle and a flash" being taught by someone who is good does not make you good! and results are not the same as correct training and riding.

i can see both sides i can see that your horse is strong to a fence ect but maybe not using all these tools is a good idea in my view anyway, its just going to make the horse want to fight with you, some schooling is clearly needed i can see you have good results i have seen your name a lot over the bsja website but, if you want to make it to international level which i am guessing you do, some schooling is required by the info you have given me dont mean it in a rude way xxx

whers as I do have access to her surname and she is not on bsja website although she is in google for the odd unaffliated 90cm class. Nothing wrong with that but at least be honest! If I am wrong feel free to post a link.
