Right, am thinking about entering a clear round jumping comp at the RS next Friday instead of lesson - eek!! The heights are 45cm, 65cm and 75cm and we would jump 70 courses in our lessons sometimes (mostly lower though) so not really worried about the height of the jumps.
I have done jumping comps before at old RS and with various other horses but am freaking out a bit tbh!!
Not really worried about which horse i get as they are all pretty good to ride and much of a muchness.
But am freaking out a bit about how nerve wracking its going to be! The warm up arena, being called in with the loudspeaker, everyone watching me (although that happens in lessons anyway) and tackling the actual course, worrying about forgetting it in my panic, having to do everything by myself without instructor to be there.
Now am being very silly i know because i have already done LOADS of courses and comps before.
Im worried about not riding the course well most of all. I want to be able to do it right. Today we did a course and i felt like i was tipping forward a lot and beat myself up about it despite the fact that the rest was positive and an achievement. I know how i want it done in my head and how you should ride a course but it doesnt happen in real life.
I just worry so much about stuff. I should just do it and practice - thats the only way im gonna get better is to remember the faults and concentrate on them and not worry too much about the rest of the stuff. But im concentrating so much on getting a good canter going and getting over the jumps that its hard to concentrate on myself.
Advice and encouragement needed - having a mini breakdown lol!
Sorry, popcorn and jelly tots for all who made it to the end!

Been trawling through the old posts to catch up and U HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT! Nuff sed. When u get in it'll b just u n the horse... n a few jumps. U'll completely forget about the audience etc. Think back to ur past comps - did u ever notice anything but the jumps except for before and after the course? It will all melt away as soon as you turn for the first approach. U'll not even worry about technique, just do what feels natural. I often get to the end of a comp course and wish I could do that same zoning out thing at home to get the right balance! Most importantly - enjoy it (especially for all of us currently unable to!) Can I have fruit chews instead?

And was actually really enjoyable and I loved it You are more than capable so just do it!! And we want piccies as well!

Drove 20 miles or so only to find that it had been cancelled and they had missed us out when contacting people to tell them it wasnt on. It was cancelled because of a 2day event tomorrow and sunday being brought forward at the last minute, to early tomorrow morning and so the people setting it up and arriving tonight; they were concerned about the safety of the riders due to the commotion spooking them etc. Gutted.

Hard luck Flea, just when you got yourself all built up for it. Is it cancelled or just postponed? I hate it when you look forward to your riding lesson/hack and then it is cancelled and that is it for a week.
