had a lesson on thursday

Went with D and troy.
Was really good! really like the instructor she was really nice.

She let us do our own thing to start with so she could see what we do, then brought us over to have a chat.
She told me that my position is weak (which i knw) and that i hang on the reins for balance, and showed me wher emy legs should go lol and did a lot of explaining. Me and d have some stuff in common as d needs to remind her self of her balance an i need to find it! I also carry my hands to low.

So once i corrected my position and hands i thn realised that i need a lot more leg with rosie than i realised. she was completely ignoreing me.

We worked on pushing them into the corners and for once rosie didnt speed off every time i put my leg on her. Then moved on to a 20m circle at e. And got her bending round. Rosie was very good and was really trying. Tracey then started to work with troy getting him to go softer, but he is so stubborn, but it is because d is constently fighting him and once he comes soft thinks shes goin to jab him again so he doesnt do it. Tracey then got on troy and then realised how stubborn he is, cause parrently tracey said that most horses like her and she never has 2 use a whip which she had to with troy! naughty boy lol

While she was with troy, rosie noticed her self in the mirrior and it was quite funny bless her but i couldnt let her get 2 close cause of the boards as it was a dressage arena.

Then yesterday tried to school her in our "school" but rosie was back to her normal self of leg means go not listen at all and generally running of with me. She just doesnt respect the "school" i think cause of the jumps in there so i give up useing it. goin to hire a school out nxt week and mosh is taking her. also hopeing for another lesson nxt week too.

But yeah she was good girl

But this is where we went, hoping to 2 do the xc/sj schooling one day too as looks really good!

Sounds like a brilliant lesson rainbow!! I think you could be right about the whole school and jumps being in it thing, probly thinks she is going to jump. Can you clear the jumps or is there too many or would you get shouted at for moving them? Or even just take the poles down and lay them beside the jumps?

Or maybe you could school in a field? Though theres no corners so might be hard to keep shapes right etc

it would be annoying ti have to move all the jumps as there is 2 many. We were supose to have plans to have a school which we were told would be ready by winter but nothing has been done and nothing been said 2 us since! Its just really annoying.

Think we are goin to hire this school out as it is only £5 for a duration YO said she was there for 1hr30 the other day didnt see anyone so left the money and said the money from last time was still there!

so think thats what were goin to do. she was good though

Wow £5 is really good! You are probs better going to this other school if it will benefit you in your riding and schooling even though its a bit inconvenient i would imagine. Still, strange that they didnt take the money or follow up where the money is - good tho lol! free use hehe!

That place looks class - what a fab arena! Perhaps you will be able to get a lesson with a famous rider sometime - i see they are supposed to come to that place throughout the year?
