hogged manes

How long do you think it will take to grow out sebastians hogged mane?

I clip Chompys mane around every 6 weeks to keep it hogged, after that he starts to have a mohikan... I know it is tough to grow out a mane particularly if its thick as they tend to look like a bog brush!

I don't mean to be rude but why was chompys hogged.

R's has taken a year to regrow fully, ie a proper long mane. There were only a few weeks when he looked a bit unkempt. He wasn't hogged very short though and we all thought he looked lovely. I would never ever do such a thing to P but R's mane was very messy and a horrible orange colour at the ends.

GB - not rude at all , last year Chompy got really bad mud fever in his feathers and the vets advice is to keep the hair on his legs short as he is prone to it. short hair on his legs and gypsy vanner mane was not a good look so the mane came off too, he looks much better for the trim.

Fi, he looks really girly with a mane lol!! I cant actually remember him not hogged. I think he looks really smart all clipped and trimmed.

Though i would prefer a clipped and trimmed cob over one with long mane and feathers anyway generally - saying that chompy looks quite cute with his mane ;D

I think Chompy looks lovely all clipped though Fi. He is a very posh boy.

Chompy is stunning either way! I do have a thing for a hogged cob though they look lovely.
