Schooled madam!

schooled Rosie tonight.
She was really good in the sense that it was mostly controlled, But god is she hard work! She has to fight everything that i want her to do. I knw it is hard work for her as she hasnt built up the right muscles yet, shes just being so stubborn about work.

I got some really nice walk to trot transitions out of her so thats a plus. But trying to get her to move away from my leg and bend as all she thinks that leg means faster, but she runs away from it thn has a hissy fit and doesnt stop! Everytime i put my leg on her to ask her bum to move she swished her tail at me which actually is quite funny. But when she did give in it was a lovely circle with nice bend. Got some nice trot work but wasnt consistent. Did some nice pole work.

Then tried to get a nice canter but she really rushes into it so everytime she did i pulled her back but i just dont think she gets its.

Really need to start getting some lessons.

But the most annoying thing thought that she did was keep snatching the reins from me by stretching her head all the way forward, tried everything to stop her but sehe still does it.

I think im just have to reflect on the good points and just put the bad as she is finding it hard or just plain stubborn lol

Yum ice cream my favourite! Well done having a go on your own, I am rubbish at schooling without regular lessons. I think it sounds like you have her sussed, the tail swishing is funny and she can obviously do it, it is just she is finding it hard. Persevere and your patience will pay off I am sure.

yeah goin to do some more with her. It will all come think need to lunge aswell at some point with moshs bungie if she can find it. I knw she can do it she proved she can but once she went round and bent nicely i left it and came back and everytime i did she put up another fight. Just needs to learn im goin to always win! lol

Dig out my bungie over the next two days when i get home and spend more than 5 minuts there before buggering off again!!
She'll get there. Need some lessons now.
She can do it but she just doesn't wanna at the minute lol

Yeah, i think you are right, she can do it, its just gonna take time for her to work consistently unfortunately. But well done on getting some good work out of her, keep up the good work. Has your bit come yet?

no bit hasnt come dont think it ever will lol but a women on the yard has lent hers and so far it seems that she likes it. I havnt a clue what bit it is as never seen one before but it has huge loose rings and then has like a port almost but its linked, sorry cant descrivbe very well. So some more schooling sessions and some lessons and she will come right but havnt hacked in tis bit yet. so could be interesting...

omg dont tell me your tack shop is as bad as ours! We once ordered a browband for connie in 2006 and it never came. We have ordered other stuff and have heard reports from other people which have had the same happen. Its ridiculous.

Can you take a pic of the bit - maybe someone can identify it? Hopefully it works, although i think your ideas for schooling and lungeing and stuff will probably work the best!

yep but my fone that i got now is a million donkeys years old! its just slowly giving up. and yes i dropped it in a thingytail (harvey wallbanger to be precise) But it did smell all nice and vanilliaery! just dont think it agreed with the orange juice!
