Have just been told by Bernie's loan mummy that as of October she won't be able to have him anymore as she is moving and has looked at every option but she just won't be able to afford keeping him. We are both devastated, me mostly because this is exactly what I didn't want, shipping him from home to home. I will be coming back to the UK in Oct so I could have him back but then if I go away again that would mean moving him twice. I am not guaranteed winter work so i could have him for 6 months and look for someone to loan him where i choose to keep him but that won't necessarily happen. I don't know what to do for the best So advice would be wonderful but also ears to the ground of anyone looking for a Bernie type would be great. For anyone that doesn't know him he is a 15hh bay Irish Cob. Very lovable and very easy to ride and look after. Typical happy hacker, can be a handful to hack alone as he hasn't done much of it recently but if he got into the routine with someone confident would be fine. Is 100% with trimmer, vet, traveling, clipping etc. He is currently stabled in Cambridge and I would like him to stay somewhere I could visit easily (closer to London the better). Ideally he would live out, he is barefoot and goes in a treeless saddle. Send me a message or email me if you know or are anyone that could be interested BeccaHawes@hotmail.com Thanks in advance Becca

Sorry to read this Becca, I know you had a job finding someone the last time. The right person will be there for him.

if I didn't have my hands full with my three I'd off like a shot, but not exactly close to London.
I am sure you will find him a great home, the only other question you need to ask yourself is 'would it be better to sell him and find him a permanent home' I know it would be tough to part ith him but if you are travelling so much you probably do need to ask yourself the question.
Sorry if that sounds heartless, I certainly don't mean it too.

If I didn't have the Edster I would be first in the queue. He is such a gorgeous boy. Shame as he's so close as well. If theres anything I can do to help let me know - even if its a temporary care home (though I would fall in love and not want to part with him!)

Sorry to hear this hasn't panned out well for you. Does his current loaner know of anyone who might be interested? Could she put out some ads for you locally?

Ah such a worry aren't they? The good thing is time is on your side. Ask in all the horsy places close to where he is, tack shop etc. Local riding school may have a notice board? You will want to vet them so worth starting sooner rather than later. Good Luck. BTW I think he is gorgeous too, if I didn't have Pete...

AGAIN!!!!!!!!! If i don't find someone amazing this time i am leaving my job to have him back, this i looking the most likely option at the mo.

Ideally he would live out, he is barefoot and goes in a treeless saddle.

Aww thank you ladies Panic over a girl from my first ever yard is looking for a horse for her dad and he is going to live at an amazing house in shropshire, I know her she knows and loves Bern and he knows her horses there so FINALLY someone who can look after him long term without he worry of them changing their mind!!!!!!! It only took two years! Unfortunately he is now obese again thanks to the lady not riding him in 2 months or restricting the grazing for either of the horses (the other has had lami in the past)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but Han will get him back to his former glory
