Rode the most wonderful Mr Pete out for an hour and a half hack yesterday just to make sure he was okay after our little tumble in the woods. He was fine, so tonight we did some quality schooling. Bless him haven't ridden him in the school properly for about three weeks, he was so good. I struggle to plan and think of things to do so it tends to be 10 metre circles serpentines loops and transitions. He was really good tho'. Considering I hack him out in a different bit, and am quite lazy about keeping his attention out hacking. He was listening coming onto the bridle and his rhythm in trot particularly seemed much better. I do feel like i have to haul him in to start with and then it gets much easier is that unusual?

Sol - i am the worst person in the world at schooling. I have ridden loads on my own and we do it a lot in lessons and apart from with connie i have always struggled to school - i.e. structure it - i usually end up trotting round the edge and randomly crossing the arena every now and then and maybe a 'circle' thrown in for good measure. I try to do some school movements and transitions but it doesnt really seem to work. I think the main problem with me is that i dont ride on enough and that is what i have to work on in the future. That is so important and i just ride so quietly that the horses are practically asleep. So whatever you do sol, make sure you always ride Pete on and dont get into this habit that i am in! I think that is a credit to you that you can get Pete going well all by yourself. So well done
