Mr Pete and I out again for a quality hour again tonight, do tell if my posting is boring. We set off at 5.45pm, all calm and lovely breeze. Pete on his toes a little, he had a day off yesterday. I walked him for twenty minutes then a short trot followed by first canter of the evening which i had to be quite strict about stopping. Somebody was feeling quite fresh. A couple more trots and then I got to a place in the woods where I could let him go. I said go he said how fast I said go for it he said OK!!! Proper galloping, didn't think he could go that fast up hill! He really flew so exhilarating, a bit scary but fantastic just the same. When we pulled up, he was snorting like a race horse. Made him walk nearly all the way home as he was wired, and he was so good. No jogging or pulling. Such a super little horse. I may be a little biased! 6.45 and nearly home and we had to pass a horse eating quad bike. I have never known him give anything such a wide birth! Home at 6.50pm. Happy horse and very happy owner. ;D ;D

It is extremely encouraging to me to read these kind of threads- I can remember when you and Pete was nervous hacking out and now you both are very seasoned campaigners. I am delighted for you (and your hacking route sounds wonderful) and it just shows you how things can get great

Sounds fantastic and you really are growing in confidence - it's the best feeling isn't it to have a blast and trust your mount and feel safe (but with the slight edge of excitement which makes it fun. I haven't ridden for over a wek and won't tonight either so I'm itching to get into the saddle - I even contemplated a donkey ride on the beach just to sit on an equine!! If I didn't feel Id have squished them!
