It was so hot here today 29 degrees! Had to wait til nearly 7pm for it to be cool enough to take the boys out. My friend on her trusty\naughty cob was all wonky when we had our first trot so we had to stop while she took her saddle off and re-tacked. She had got it too far forward. Then we had to find a bit of bank for her to get back on from. All well until we tried to find the river. We wanted to let them have a paddle but when we got there the bank was too steep to get in So we came back via a tiny bit of railway line. Friend was feeling brave and let me and Pete go first for a canter. Pete knew which way home was and set off a bit too fast, so Barney thought he should squeal and buck! Naughty pony! Friend not best pleased with us.We walked to the little stream and Pete stuck his face in and wuffled about a bit nearly wet up to his noseband! Then on the way back managed one more little canter in the woods, pete spooked Barney from behind and friend cross with us again! Oops! Didn't get back til 8.15pm. Bit late really i suppose. Never mind, I enjoyed it, not riding tomorrow. But exciting news- I have booked a jumping lesson for Wednesday! ;D

sounds like fun, wish we had more wooded areas to go ride in as its alot of road work where we are. Beautiful country roads may i add but not many canter places unless you like verges which i dont. we ride quite late so your not alone. annax

Good luck with the jumping lesson. Your hack sounds great. I wish we could go out in the evening when it is so hot but we're tied to the riding school hours.
