Scatty enjoyed an evening hack, much as I have today. Set off about 6pm, lovely and cool in the woods with the birds singing loudly. Had a lovely canter followed by Pete doing much snorting as he got his breath back. He was trying to race uphill! A little adventurous even for him. My hacking buddy H and I saw a fallen log and couldn't resist popping over it. She went first, didn't think she could hold Barney if she followed and Pete and I waited to go. I wasn't sure he had actually seen the jump as there was much foliage either side of it. He did see it! He jumped it like a stag. No way to get back to the path unless we jumped it again! Loads of fun Pete really up for it the second time. Then we had another longish canter, they were as good as gold. Barney then slowed right up and we were a bit concerned as he loves to jog if left behind he needed a wee bless him after that he was game again. Stupid walkers in our way then so we had to get back to the road home. It was a lovely ride, saw a deer in the woods on the way back. Pete spooked at a bag exactly like the one I carry his hay in but a man with a drill not scary at all! Love that horse. ;D

That sounds like a great hack! You seem to be full of confidence sol even when Pete is more up for it! I admire that

They are all good, some better than others like wine! I love getting out with my horse, he is a constant source of pleasure.
