Another landmark i didnt think would ever happen, today me and Frank have had our first run in the field known as the D field, used for cantering and galloping. its a fabulous big 3 field link and ive always wanted to go in but with Franks injury thats been off the agenda. Well today i took my dogs in to walk through and see what it was like, later this afternoon the farmer told me he was going to spray it so it was now or never. Off we set down the first two fields, Frank spooked at the gate between fields but soon went through and walked like an angel to the bottom despite the ducks and pheasant flying out of the long grass. At the very bottom i turned him and we took one look at the field ahead and set off, he was so steady, a fabulous cteady canter, no hint of gallop which is good, we shad a small shy at the next gate so dropped to trot but straight back to canter for last field and stopped easily at the gate. i I cant explain how wonderful, amazing it felt, im overjoyed and so proud of my big lad. hes come so far and still kept his head, i did expect he would try jumping a wall or something after spending part of his life Point to Pointing. annax heres the view from the bottom.

That looks like great fun. There is nothing like a long canter to blow away the cobwebs and leave you smiling all day.

Fabulous. That field looks lovely. Most of ours are rock hard now - found one nice track at the weekend. What a good boy Frank is being

Fabulous I'd rather be cantering up a field like that than doing almost anything else, even eating chocolate!!!
