Sorry I know the rules should have had buddy on the ground. I did try to org anise a photographer in my defence but it didn't work out that way. Loading the horses was fun-not! Pete was quite naughty then bit me and drew blood! Barney was really silly took a good 20 minutes. Never mind, we got there in one piece and had an amazing time. We had a few canters with the brakes on, its a seven mile course. Then we went for it. Pete won the first gallop challenge but then spooked and let Barney over take. A few more gentle canters later, we had a proper gallop. Now holds barred. Pete can motor. Not scary though just fantastically exhilarating. I loved it. I did do two jumps, a little log and a half decent solid fence. Would have done more if we had a bit more fitness. What a fantastic day. Only sad thing was on the way home Barney scraped his bum in the lorry. It is a big raw bald patch. Shame 'cos other wise it was a perfect day.

Well done sol for getting out and about! Sounds like a general all round good day apart from a few snags You should go on some pleasure rides, i think you and your friend with barney would have great craic on them and you sound to be fit enough to cope perfectly fine - they are great fun if you motor on at trot and canter - if you walk a lot, expect a bit of silliness lol!

glad you had a great time, and Pete does look very handsome in his rug. The more you go out the easier it becomes.

Wow, well done Sol... delighted for you. Sounds a really exhilarating fun day!! WELL DONE!!! Sorry about Barney's botty but he'll be fine. Might be worth getting some cushioning though for the side of the lorry. He is a real stunner that boy, Pete - he looks great.
