I need to get my lad a fly rug and wondered what your experiences are with these. POersonally im a weatherbeeta girl. All Franks rugs are weatherbeeta bar one Rambo stable rug and they fit him fabulously. Has anyone used the Weatherbeeta one? or does anyone have any other recommendations. Frank is very funny about sprays so this will solve one part of the problem and i can work on creams on the bits still accessible. annax

I'm also a weatherbeeta (and premier equine) person normally but bought my two Mark todd ones this year as I liked the design and despite harry having made loads of holes in the neck of his already (how you tell me ) I'm very pleased wirth the quality and fit. It was the belly piece and elasticated bit at bottom of neck cover that sold it along with the lining on tail guard shoulder. They were £50 from Throstle Nest...I think your Zaras friend (?) so you'll know where I mean.

I got Ben a Weatherbeeta with a "free" face mask. It's is blue/white check fabric and rather heavy I think but it does have the belly wrap and fits him really well. Haven't put him out in it yet, just tried it on him, but NOT the mask. Something tells me he won't rate it very highly....

AJ has a Rhinegold one and it OK but last summer it did rub his shoulder when it got very hot. I did have a Rambo Sweetitch rug but unless he gets Sweetitch it is a bit over the top. Jules has the rambo fly rug and it fits Brod really well Zx

There is a Boett copy available now called a Mellenkamp, they are a bit cheaper but only worth the money if your horse has sweet itch.
