Just bought a secind hand body protector for £30. Race something, it is very comfy. Any thoughts on second hand safety wear, will it be better than nothing or have I just wasted £30!

Depends on the job it had previously i assume and how much of a battering it took. Did you get it online or in a tack shop?

Its probably a racesafe one. I think second hand BPs arent as much of a safety issue as hats cos they are just foam really i suppose. As BD says it depends how battered it is and whether the velcro, elastic, stitching etc is in good nick. Id say it would be fine - make sure its the purple lable - BETA level 3. Thats a good bargain for a racesafe!

My Racesafe is very comfortqable and cost me £135 so £30 sounds like a good deal if not had any serious impacts Zx
