Got a wee spin again this evening on the horse (B) i mentioned in ceej's post. He's a big pet lol! We arrived at the SJ centre too late to see the wee fella on the lead rein doing his 50cm class and owner said i could have entered B in it too. Had intended to go and spectate just and there always someone you know to cheer on. Anyway, owners dad took him round the 80cm course. It was so funny cos he is sort of cobby looking and comparing him to all the SJ type horses. 
Then owner asked if i wanted a wee spin so went and got my hat and rode round the warm up a bit. He kept thinking i wanted to go over the jumps when i was going round the edge (small warm up area), cos hes got this habit i suppose, of whipping round and cantering off towards the jump. However, i must add that this isnt scary because he actually doesnt go fast at all lol! Its more the enthusiasm and the whipping round and then he just trundles into the jump and pops it lol. Hes like a big armchair, really easy to sit to. So anyway, i had to hold him off from doing that till i actually wanted him to.
Bad habit, i know but what can you do when you are privileged enough to get free rides. Just have to go with the flow...
Then when the arena was cleared we put the jump down and went over it several times - i could have jumped him all night. After the first time i wasnt scared at all. I just sat there and went forward over the jump when he did and that was it basically. He did the rest!
Great fun, was going round with a big grin on my face lol!
