Chompy being Chompy is being a drama queen again, he has a cut on the inside of his hind leg a couple of inches below his hock. It looks like he has skinned an area about the size of a 10p piece.
I have tried all my usual remedies, wound powder, purple spray washing etc etc etc. It scabs over and starts to look like it is healing well then he must knock it and it reopens. It seems he always reopens it overnight when in his stable.
Any other ideas that could speed up the healing process?

Aloe vera gel works well for us, it soothes as well as helping heal so it possibly won't have a chance to irritate him enough for him to feel the need to rub it (if thats what he's doing).

I've had good results with Aromaheal but am I right in thinking it was one of your boys that was allergic to it? Also heard that Camrosa is very good zx

Thans Zara, but yes it was Chompy who reacted really badly to it - for a great big cob, he can be incredibly sensitive...

I used fly cream on Pete's last cut. It was yellow stuff, not sure it had any healing properties but the cut healed lovely.
