Janette Brakewell is coming to Perth (25 minutes from my house) in April for two days, 1 day Jumpcross training 2nd day XC training.
I am sorely tempted!
(Although I would take the Chompstar rather than Brave as I would get more out of it not having to worry about a horse who had never been on either a jumpcross or XC course)

Is jumpcross like XC but with fall-down obstacles? Always fancied that. Don't like fixed jumps, they scare the poop out of me.

Rac thats right, you also do ditches and steps and things but the rest of the jumps are more like show jumps... have a look at jumpcross.com

Thanks Fi!!! That isn't too far at all and is a highly praised venue. Ben's former owner took him there for various things (not jumpcross though) And I see Janette is B going there in July!!! ;D I shall investigate - it looks great fun and not maybe as scary as XC....those solid obstacles frighten the life out of me!!!

Sounds good fun and three days of training should have Chomps (or Brave) jumping out of his skin.

have now pulled finger out and entered Chompy for a jumpcross competition next sunday - in the littlest class 2'-2'6" which he can do in his sleep, its at Anstruther so pretty flat
here is a video of the 2009 course they have on you tube.
and have sent off form for the training day with JB.

BB I think those jumps on the video are bigger than to 2'- 2'6" they are just like show jumps and all are either going to be cross poles uprights or little spreads. Chomps jumps 3' for fun at home so these won't be too bad at all. Do the pics at the bottom of this page make you feel better www.stablesfife.co.uk/jumpcross.html
