Did my first long hack on my own with Pete, about an hour. He was terrified of all the wheelie bins, managed to not bump into the bin lorry- phew! He was so head in the air it was like riding a gifaffe at times. I can't say it was relaxing but we did it. ;D

That's great! I don't know where you'd get a wheelie bin but if you can lay your hands on one ... When he spooks at them, make sure you do not look at them but continue to look where you want to go and ride positively! He'll get used to them!

Well done, its a massive step for them to start to learn to go out on their own, one thing that may help is to also meet up with someone halfway around.

What is it with wheelie bins - Eddie gives them a very wide berth! Must be those bengal tigers inside just waiting to jump out that does it!! Well done you for going it alone. The more you do it the better it will become.
