Am thinking of getting a new pair of riding boots for lessons and maybe the odd competition etc. I have a pair of dublin jodhpur boots and on the inside they are worn into holes where the ball of my foot rests, almost down to the sole. I have a pair of black Shires gaiters, so if i was getting short boots they would have to be black. Long boots might be an option - however, i was looking for a new pair of boots a year or so back and nothing really fitted due to my cob legs and the bleeding lump on my shin i had (it has gone down and you can barely see it now, although this is a year and a half from i got it). I would really like something smart and good quality. Dublin boots have served me well since i have started riding again so perhaps that brand would be a good place to start looking? I tried on Ariat short boots in the shop a few years back and they wouldnt go on - my ankle was too thick . I have had Aigle soft rubber boots but dont wanna go back to them - but a different type might suit so that could also be a brand to look into. Any ideas folks?

I loved my short leather Aigle boots which served me well for five years but at €135 a pair I had to look elsewhere to replace them. I have been very impressed with my Dublin joddie boots - got some for the teenagers as well, because they were so cheap. Soooooo comfy - I do a lot of walking when I do long distance.

I have had a look at Aigle but they are all soft rubber and i think id prefer a leather pair. So Aigle is out the window lol! They are very pricey on the website but i could have sworn they were cheap when i had a pair of the long boots Have picked out a pair of dublin short boots as a possibility - Assurance joddy boots with a zip www.surreyequestrian.co.uk/Dublin-Assurance-Jodhpur-Boots.htmlany other ideas?
