Not me I hasten to add but my brave friend Rob who borrows a riding school horse to compete had another go today and did really well. My yard owner won the class! She was so chuffed never having won on her cheeky but beautiful mare before. She then entered her first ever novice event and came fifth. Absolutely chuffed to bits for her, best valentines ever. Makes me want to have a go with lovely Mr Pete even more.

Sol, you really are just going to have to give it a go, it doesn't matter how well (or badly:)) you do you can also keep you test sheets as a record of your progress.

I echo Fi totally. You will love it I am sure!! I had never done a test until October 2009 and it was really good fun. I got a truly terrible mark but improved a tinsy bit for the next comp in November so going in the right direction. It isn't about winning hionestly, it really is just good fun. As Fi says, give it a go and keep your sheets for future reference. Honestly if I can do it anyone can.....PLEASE give it a go.....

Crikey Sol, if me and the Tub of Lard (aka Paco) can have a go, anyone can I'm not going to get nervous, it's just a huge laugh and a good opportunity for the neddies to see new stuff. Go for it kiddo!!!!

Great Sol - I think you both will love it. And I am pretty sure you will do very well (not that it matters). I think I was more proud after my first dressage than about nearly any other first in riding as it was always something I thought I could not do. My favourite comment was 'wrong strike off in canter but immediately corrected' - I had not been aware of either the wrong strike off or the correction - I had a very helpful horse!

PLEASE give it a go Sol. I am sure you'll enjoy it and it is so easy to miss out because you don't feel you'll do well. It's about doing it as they say, not about winning or even getting a rosette, it is all about getting out and about with your lovely Mr Pete.. If I can do it anyone can and it really is great fun, honest injun.. ;D ;D ;D
