Thanks Zara, I found a tangled plait in one of the horses manes when she was hung over mum's garden, this was before xmas now I think (but owners didn't give a toss when they were told!) fortunatly nothing has come of it to date but people need to be extra vigiliant right now I think

The other night my YO got a call quite late at night to say that a horse was running loose on the road. After much searching the mare was found and she was quite frantic, eventually caught and put in a stable for the night. It was assumed she had jumped out of her field but .... she had plaits in her mane (same field as previous pony) and why would she suddenly jump out of a field and leave her friends to run wildly up and down the road??? We are all quite worried and being extra vigilant; please be alert! Zx

Thanks for the update Z, very scarey stuff but glad it worked out well this time and she is safe and well.
it's nearly two years ago now that my two were 'out' on the main road and it's a terribvle phone call to recieve, I'm positive it was a bungled attempt to steal them (I doubt Murph would load for a stranger if he let them near him in first palce as a funny bunny to say the least and if someone tried to part them both wouyld kick off) as gate was opened inwards with lock smashed (Surely it would have ben outwards if they had leaned and broke it) plus they went down onto road where they never go and not up to common where they know there is grub) . kids messing was pretty much ruled out too because of their location but we will never know.

Its a worrying time especially if you have a marketable horse. Glad it turned out ok and at least the episode will make people really vigilant.
